Jill, You are right about the rate hike(s).
To me when everyone out there is predicting doom and gloom for the markets as a result of a small interest rate increase, i take that as a sign of a buying opportunity.

If individuals ever got into the bond market like they have in the equity market, we could see 30 bond at 5%. IMHO, that is the difference between the equity and bond market behavior.
The bond experts have too much power to move that market whereas equity traders (retail) would go bargain hunting in the event of a decline in the markets. The old guard is still able to get away with a lot of @$$@#$ when it comes to the bond market. In the equity market, they have been burned. ("they" = the big "experts"---chief strategist type of titles)
