As David Robinson noted (in Dow Jones, PRNewswire, and Bloomberg), Targretin was "central" to LGND's earnings. LGND's strategy has been to gain approval in a small niche market, and then rely on off label use for significant revenue. Today's press release reported favorable Targretin data for severe of moderate psoriasis, and noted that Targretin was in advanced breast cancer trials and interim data would be available later this year. If the clinical data is anywhere near the animal data, then Targretin sales will skyrocket, if approved for CTCL due to off label usage.
