Do we need to worry at this $27 price level? No, not at all (at least to me). Why saying so? It's very simple. The risk to hold COMS is now very low. Talking about short term, the estimates for next two quarters are $0.24 and $0.32. So, it's OK. Speaking about long term, it's not easy. There were no good historical performance available in recent years. Poor management and bad decisions made 3Com here as we see today. However, based on the current new promising products, such as Palms and cable modems, we may also say OK for 3COM. Anyway they already sold 4 million Palms and signed a contract with AT&T for cable modem earlier this year. What's the plus? It's their "GO WIRELESS" moving. This bring the shareholders a hope that 3Com may again become a leader in this area. Investors like to put their money into a company with a hope. You too, me too. Thinking about that you might not need to stay at your office/home to connect with the net, you should feel the direction is right. Dealing with AOL and planning for being a wireless service provider, it looks they want to play real. Eric B. made many mistakes before. Yes, he may make mistakes again. However, I believe that one good idea is always out of three bad moves. Its a common sense, not from my sixth sense although it works very well to me :-) Good luck! |
