The semi equipment makers... I have no idea whats going on there except someone here
pointed out it could be the demand in chips for the comm area (wireless etc.) are
exploding thus leading to an increase in Amat orders... I don't know... but it sure isn't
PC demand

Chip demand is clearly not strong with the box makers as you stated. Chip demand did improve world wide as the entire world economy started to move back up. There are chips in almost everything we buy. I can't recall how many the average automobile has these days but it is a lot. More cars than ever are being sold world wide. Also, think of wireless phones, PCDs, etc. The world wide economic improvement has increased demand for products that require chips.
