Agreed

Its not a matter of buying T vs Worldcom...both will be winners. One of my mutal funds is heavy into MCI-W, with good reason IMO.
IMO, T is just one of those companies accumulate whenever it dips significantly...a good buy for your IRA etc.

As we "go braodband" T will move more into the forefront, their stakes in cable and wireless being the primary reason.

With the company's fundamentals, namely their huge profits, T will be a powerhouse, leading the telecommunications world into the next century. Their partnership with Microsoft and countless others strengthen their position in the Internet sector.

With its 3+ billion share float, T may not move as readily in the short term as WCOM and GBLX, but it will be a bit less volatile. IMO T is just one of those "you can't go wrong" stocks; that being said, there are surely numerous OTHER stocks that make for better short term trading opportunities.
