A splendid coincidence! There is a high comfort level in the programming...Many of the comedies treat people with indulgence, more than is suitable in real life. Lucy is lying, conniving, selfish,and vindicative, but in the end we "Love Lucy". The universe is shown to be merciful, and we figure that if some of these jokers can be forgiven and accepted, there is hope for us. The world is a rough place, these kinds of comedies express our wish that it, and we, could afford to be gentler...
