Kudos to the Irish Poker Champs! Thu Jun 24 1999 Irish players dominated the recent World Series of Poker. Noel Furlong emerged the million-dollar victor for 1999. In this Irish Times column, Donnacha O'Dea, an Irish veteran of the Las Vegas "Big One," talks about poker and the world cards circuit: "There were probably six Irish players in a tournament of 400 players, and three of them got in the first nine, which is quite amazing... I thought it should have got more publicity than it did, and it should have got more kudos."
