RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif., March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Xecom President, Joseph A. Vigliarolo, announced today that three more AAFES project military bases have been brought on line: Ft. Carson, Presidio and West Point. These bases have a potential to bring 8,000 new customers to the Company.
Mr. Vigliarolo also announced that the Company is pleased to welcome David Friedman to its marketing team. Mr. Friedman, who is affiliated with the Trans-Tech consulting team which continues to manage its Select Switch subsidiary, was a co-founder, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Preferred Telecom, Inc., which specializes in voice recognition technology for the telecommunications industry. He also founded and served as President and Chief Executive Officer of KTI Corporation, one of the principal manufacturers of telecommunications equipment. In addition to KTI, he helped establish and served as President for the commercial division of Value-Added Communications, a provider of telecommunications equipment and services designed for hotel use with telephone operator services.
Mr. Friedman was also an original officer and Vice President of Sales with U.S. Telephone, Inc., a provider of long distance services, now a part of Sprint. Mr. Friedman has accumulated more than 20 years experience and held key roles in management in the telecommunications industry. He brings to the Company proven experience in the telecommunications area, with highly respected discernment for entrepreneurial endeavors.
Mr. Friedman's mandate is to expedite and increase marketing to the AAFES bases, as well as to help the Company expand into new markets, including telephone debit cards, wireless telephone service, Internet access, pagers and others. Mr. Vigliarolo has said that Xecom will be considering joint venture and merger opportunities in these new market areas.
Xecom Corp., through its wholly owned subsidiary, Select Switch Systems, Inc., installs, maintains and operates turnkey residential barracks telecommunications services through a 10-year exclusive subcontract agreement with Sprint Corporation, to the nation's Army and Air Force installations.
