Is A@P selling copies of 20/20 and Justice Files? Aren't those programs copyright protected? I wonder if they gave permission to allow someone to sell those programs? I called each network and program producer asking them if they have done so. (The Justice Files folks were hard to located, but a few calls to the Discovery Channel were very productive.) I have also followed up via E-Mail sharing the applicable links.

I also called ABC's fulfillment house (Federal Document Clearing House). They have the contract to sell program transcripts and videotapes for ABC News, and they were a bit shocked that someone was independently selling a copy of an ABC program on the Internet since they have an exclusive contract to do so. Thus, one of their lawyer's is looking into this as well.

ABC was also surprised that a video segment from an ABC News program was being distributed on the Internet by someone.

I do hope that A@P's legal team acquired the requisite permission from the program producers to sell these programs and distribute clips on the Internet. It is probably best that these organizations check this out themselves since I know that A@P would hate to see someone's legal rights violated. I know the folks I have already communicated with at these organizations were very happy to have the URL links and have already printed them just in case things disappear.
