I tend to agree with you except on item 4.

The bigger test will be on PIII 450/500 speed grades.

These will be the meat of the desktop market for Q4.

If Intel slashes these to $100 range then AMD is cooked and gone.

The big question is will they try to do this.

I suspect that Intel will sell every 600Mhz chip they make even at a higher price than AMD K7's at least thru end of the year.
