Dear SFSPIKE, I work for LSI and I do not think that LSI wants to deceive anyone to buy or to sell LSI stock, at whatever price. These days, I have learned my lesson that stock prices are determined by MM (I guess it stands for Mutualfund Managers) - they call each other and decided on one day to dump a sector and they all sell to bring the price down, or to buy to hike the price up. Can't blame them, they have to make their funds' performance looks good - afterall, is our 401K money in it anyway.
First, they set an expectation on earning (and they can keep changing it up or down) and play around with missing expectation or above expectation. If the company 'came in line' then they have another powerful tool call future outlook ... it goes on.
I will take a third mortgage and dump all the money into buying more LSI if it hit $25 again soon this year. 1Q (for the first 2 months of Jan and Feb) I think we already make the required numbers (but please don't quote me). Outlook for 2Q and 2H97 "booked solid" is what I can see at this point - or at least I can see happening at my mere position as an engineer.
Again, stock prices are not determined by individual company - why the deceiving ? Point your finger to those MM ...
I do not know where you are, but I would like to bet with you a pho (Vietnamese Noodle soup) that LSI will not hit $25 or below in ANY trading day, at least for the entire year of 1997. Take this bet ? Let me know :-)
Take care, David |
