On the other topics, I'm almost set to agree, we need govt out of gold, as this behind the scenes fixing sucks.

The quandary the gold sector faces is that without gov't intervention in the gold sector, and perpetuating the myth that gold is currency, gold will trade on its commodity status for jewelry and electro-plating... etc.

It would also lose those gov't subsidies like Jesse Helms is unwittingly(?) advocating for the S. African gold industry. Afterall, were it not for the gov't treating gold like currency, productive assets could be reallocated towards more productive and economically beneficial purposes.

There is very little productive benefit to mining tons of gold only to mint it into coinage or warehouse it.

Regards,

Ron
