Joan,

There are few places where the growth is. IMO, technology is where its
at. I also think that excellent growth opportunities exist in specific
companies in the so-called emerging markets. Trouble is, they are hard
research. One thing I like about technology stocks is their elasticity.
If the tech sector takes a 10-15% hit, that's like transportation for
example taking a 2-3% hit. If transportation takes 10-15% hit, you're
almost looking at a market crash. When I take this perspective, that's
another reason why I don't sweat otherwise significant drops in tech
stocks. By the same token I don't get excited about a 10-15% increase.

In the long term, if the fundamentals are there, holders will be
rewarded. Its an immutable law of the marketplace.
