a) Intel isn't going to slash its price to $100
b) Intel might slash its price to $200 + a little.
c) The volume that would cause (assuming price elasticity) for Intel would indeed cause some agita for AMD as it would shrink the market for non-Intel premium performance desktop chips.

Your argument of Taurus vs Ferrari is flawed. The sale of a taurus does not preclude the sale of a Ferrari. The sale of a 550 MHz PIII does preclude the sale of a K7.

Whether Intel does that depends on the impact (volume-wise) of the K7. That won't be known for another 90 days or so.
