The talking heads on CNBC don't believe Dell.

These cue card readers must believe that they know more about Dell's business than MD and his officers do.

Personally I'll trust Michael Dell before I'll trust any analyst and especially before I trust one of the CNBC cue card readers. They're on the tube for their pretty faces not for their brilliant insights and understanding of business. e.g. Mark Haines with his premise earlier this year that the Semi Capital Equipment sector was officially dead and would never ever again be revived.

Last time I checked, the Fed and the bond pit were fretting that the economy is too hot.

That doesn't strike me as a condition that would lead to Dell's growth rate slowing.

In any case the difference in opinion is what makes a market. I can buy Dell knowing full well that it should be illegal to take money from the ill-informed. And they in turn can dump or short Dell shares to another overly optimistic sucker.

We'll see within 2-3 quarters which group was most correct: the buyers or the sellers.

FWIW,

Ian.
