Mike, I wasn't being clear in my expressions re: MF and Yahoo. I have read TMF several times, given away perhaps a dozen copies, and still consider it a valuable contribution, especially to my decision to think stocks rather than mutual funds.

TMF columnists are easily among the best around.

I have two areas of disdain however. TMF seems (is) more focused on small caps which I have always considered treacherous water, and the threads seem, excuse my vanity, pedestrian by comparison with most SI threads.

Yahoo threads, IMHO, are just awful....hype, cheer leading to a point that I find troubling.

Perhaps it's just the threads I visited, but in my monitoring of SI threads, there is much more substance to be had. Yahoo is quick with news, but since I read a lot of the technology press, and keep clipping files, and trade infrequently, that (quickness) is not quite so valuable to me.

Out of both negative and positive impressions of these three, I have developed a preference. Another investor, with a different style, could easily develop a different one.
