I think Go2Net's one month jump from #19 to #15 in the Media Metrix rankings is great news and wondered why Go2Net didn't issue a statement. In response to an inquiry about this, Mark S. Peterson, Director of Public Relations for Go2Net, responded: "While we're pleased with the progress we're making in reaching the #15 position, we feel that the more newsworthy event will be our reaching the Top 10, which we are intent on accomplishing by the end of Calendar Year 1999. To that end, everyone here is working extremely hard to continue building what is the fastest growing Web property within the Media Metrix Top 25. Media Metrix, for its part, has done a solid job of distributing its latest rankings report and feedback from press, analysts and investors has been positive, indicating to us that there's pretty wide awareness of our growth and that issuing our own press release would be potentially redundant." Good answer. Glad they remain so confident in reaching the top ten this year. Kevin
