But AMD isn't going to sell at top-notch prices, are they? They're already pricing the 600 MHz Athlon at $699, compared to a starting price of $824 for a Pentium III 600 MHz. Both will be available in the market at about the same time. So if the Athlon commands a small integer performance lead and a sizable FP lead, why should AMD once again sell at a discount?
