Benny, unfortunately, I think what they are trying to avoid is ANOTHER FDC like occurence. They saw the processing go to a low/cost scaled enterprise and they lost control of the process and the pricing. The same thing happened on the merchant processing side with the likes of Concord/Total et al. What they don't recognize is that they should encourage this, particularly with the commodity-like nature of the processing CKFR does.

What they should be concerned with is not the delivery system, but rather the packaging, pricing, promotion of these services, and how they relate to the other services they offer. Their focus on the processing/delivery of services, rather than their OFFERINGS is exactly what gives the Schwabs et al the opportunity to eat their lunch.
