Ken Schapiro, President of Condor Capital, on Taking Stock T, ADVS, GWW, COMS, AOL, EMC, QCOM, BA, and LU
Stock Picks include:
T. 53 11/16 down 1 7/16
ADVS. He feels this is the best solution for the investment management industry. Uses the software and understands the company. Feels more demand for their products will arise going forward. 60 7/8 down ½
GWW. 54 7/16 down 15/16
COMS. Waiting for takeover to happen. Owns a little of this. 26 ¼ down 7/8 -3.23%
AOL. He asserts the key to AOL is which broadband strategy they choose to adopt, going forward. AOL's current strategy is satellite delivery. He considers this inferior to DSL or cable modems. Schapiro doesn't like AOL if they keep their current broadband strategy.
EMC. Thinks this is a good time to buy. Asserts this is a strong company with the impetus to triple over the next few years.
QCOM. Went up 400%. Everyone is adopting their technology. Selling a bit after the big run-up. Thinks it's a good time to sell.
BA. Worldwide demand is low now and there are rumblings of an air bust starting another price war. Schapiro is wary of this.
LU. Thinks it's an excellent company in a good industry. Schapiro likes CSCO a little more, but is holding this stock.
