Sonny,

AMD has to be profitable at some point. They have made an art form out of falling on their swords for some time now. If they can deliver on their K7 at the projected speeds, they will, for a short time, have a faster CPU on the market than Intel.

IBM has done very well, I concede. Gerstner is a very good CEO for them. My friends at IBM are all pro-Gerstner, and are worried in case he should decide to go. Of course, what do you do after IBM?
