Apple's monopoly on PowerBooks will be gone soon. Moto and Umax are planning models of thier own design. When Apple's OS for the common reference platform hits a avalange of clone models and new mfgrs. will hit the market with portables in the mix. There is so much pent up demand that everyone will get their fill of profits in the next year or so. IBM's joint venture PowerBook will be marketed by Apple this summer, while IBM has debued it at the Tokyo show.
