I don't care about Iomega's spin on what it's "designed to do."

The fact is that the Iomega CD-RW will cannibalize much higher margin sales away from Zip and Jaz.

You just can't get around it. Iomega has conceded their monopoly strategy and now hopes to SURVIVE as a commodity vendor. Zip is on its decline. Jaz is almost totally gone. And 15% CD margins (at the most- as per my previously-linked post) cannot possibly make up the difference from possible 50% to 100% margins on Zip or Jaz.

Iomega has now officially switched to Survival mode by going into the commodity business. And why Iomaniacs don't choose to take advantage of this short-term price bubble to Sell their IOM shares is beyond me. I guess its the same reason they hold on from $9 or $10.

Hope. It's all they have.
