Guys,

Here's an interesting article from the 3/19/97 Computer Reseller News about Yocam's planned restructuring:

techweb.com

One section that I would like to comment on:

The way I sized the company was I looked at the [Software Publishers Association] data and saw that there was an average of $234,000 per employee for software companies last year," Yocam said. He then rounded that figure to $200,000 per employee and set a target of between $140 million and $150 million in revenue, which "would allow [Borland] to have 700 to 750 employees going forward."

Is it just me, or is Yocam setting his target way too low? That's only $35-$37.5M per quarter, which is no more than recent quarters. I think they have potential for significantly more than that, and am concerned to see Yocam setting his target so low.

Comments, anyone?
