Had a similar performance problem with WOW Day Trader and DTN satellite feed: fixed it with a high speed serial card (Pacific Commware) set at 460kb. I get 200kb+ consistently at the open, and peaks of 250-270 kb, so I was obviously losing a bit of data on a standard 115kb serial port.
