Cook is waiting to secure all U.S. and International patents for protection before he tells the world about all of their proprietary products.

Joe, late 98 CUST was still pursuing the custom CD business. It was after they scrapped it that Cook jumped on this new internet payment venture which started in Feb 99. CUST is just starting to file its patent applications.

I'm afraid you're not familiar with the patent process at all. Read on.

After a patent application is filed, it takes at least 12 months for the first Office Action. Then it could be months or even years before it issues. Patents can also be challenged in court.

In my line of work, we file patents frequently. I'm not proud to tell you the number of useless patents we have been granted. Each application does cost us about $10k though. Money wasted merely for prestige, but no commercial value.

Don't expect to hear news related to issuance of patents to CUST in 1999. To say anything differently is total distortion of the truth and display ignorance on the subject.

Regards,

Tom
