No. I wouldn't call any of the current AMD chips, junk. However, it takes more than not producing junk to compete with the world's largest chipmaker.

I think the importance of supplier reliability is even more magnified on the high end and AMD's record speaks for itself, regardless of who is at the helm.

I think the strategy of competing with Intel on the high end is a very dangerous one for AMD. It's a make or break strategy and given the reliability record, the financial losses of this and previous quarters, the small number of fabs and the fact that AMD brand has been associated with low end products tilts the odds of success strongly against AMD, rendering it a poor investment in my opinion.
