Off topic -- OPEC immunity.

I am still trying to figure out why OPEC goes untouched.

I'm not a lawyer. The 'C' in OPEC stands for 'Country', and as such, as with all other foreign countries, they are not bound by U.S. laws.

Microsoft is a U.S. company, and as such, is subject to U.S. laws.

We, as petroleum consumers, may prefer to exploit energy resources worldwide, but the current owners of those resources may wish to negotiate with us from a stronger position. Organizing themselves has been an attempt to achieve this goal. Admittedly, it worked better, for them, in the 1970s, but lately, their solidarity has been shaken. They did teach us the value of energy conservation and self-sufficiency.

Cheers, PW.
