would you happen to know anything about the computer that AOL may give away with their system? They are negotiating with this computer company. But what I wonder is will this computer run Microsoft WORD or even WORDPAD for that matter?

From what I gather, the PC MicroWorkz will offer will be running either Linux or BeOS, not Windows. I know the BeOS PC's will ship with their own proprietary "office" software. Don't know enough about Linux to say whether they would port any Windows applications -- but I would venture that the answer would be no.

The main focus of these PC's will be to jump onto the interne, fast and easy (ala iMac). You can find more info at microworkz.com.
