To your first statement: true, already is, and probably will. You left out king of technology, both in semiconductors and storage, although Intel freaks will give you an argument on the semi part.

Two problems with IBM stock are that they have trouble keeping the top line moving up fast enough for a growth stock (so huge), and they've made a huge move up lately. IBM is one of those stocks that, to me, always looks too expensive. Cisco might also but I'm very confident of their continued 30+ percent growth for years, so have no trouble jumping in there.
