You are right about the pepper. Mea culpa...Mustard in corn muffins? Sounds good, actually...There was a place near my in- laws in Kansas City that served (farm- bred) fried catfish that was excellent. Although not much of a drinker, at their suggestion I ate it while drinking scotch (J&B), and the two flavors went together extremely well. I have to admit, though, I am not big on fin fish (except smoked), I grew up on shellfish. My Jewish grandmother gave up on keeping kosher during World War II, when it was rumored that her butcher sold horsemeat, and unlike some Jewish families, when they stopped adhering to the whole thing, they gave up resisting pork and shellfish too, so we used to go down to Bay country for crabs, oysters, and clams on a regular basis...They smoke brisket in Kansas City, so it has to be sliced... |
