Matrix Man, I actually don't really think you shouldn't be allowed to short stocks -- I just don't like what it does to some people. It really sets up an "us against them" mentality. Most of the people who use both sides, like Trufflette aka KM, handle it very well. She doesn't come to our thread and rag on Rambus or try to frighten anyone -- she appears occasionally and updates us on trades she's made. If she's guessed correctly, I'm happy for her. Even if shorting wasn't allowed, you'd still get the same obnoxiousness in some people like Chuck because those individuals that were long AMD would still go over to the Intel thread and tell them how stupid they were. If everyone had to go long, at least the market wouldn't necessarily be the zero-sum game that it is when one group is short and the another is long. (Sue me, I'm a dreamer). Dave
