Peter, I do know if Minolta have a device in the market. There are many references to work from Minolta, but it is interesting that Dr Maisels studied the product, it could or could not have been a direct work for Minolta.

In the article Dr Maisels gave the cost of the instrument as $3000, then he calculated the savings vs the standard serum test. After one year of use each test will be $0.15.

"because the jaundice meter was introduced in 1990, and because it took some time for its acceptance by pediatricians" this is a direct quote from the Maisels April 1997 article, but I do not know if it is available.
