It should just override 2.2. Your workspaces should be OK. To be safe, you might want to back up your workspaces to another folder. I think the only thing you will miss is any custom colors that you have created. The colors that you applied to charts, etc. will remain, but any custom colors you CREATED will not remain. You need to recreate them.
