I've seen something mentioned earlier regarding the Russell 2000 that deserves a follow-up and should be a help to longs next week. Until this week, it was a fait accompli that Checkfree would be removed from the 2000 and moved into the less popularly indexed Russell 1000 as of Wednesday, June 30 COB.

Things have changed, and CKFR presently ranks approximately #1030 in market cap among U.S. companies. So it either rallies early next week or stays in the 2000. In the case of the latter, because some managers and speculators have likely either pre-sold or shorted this (helluva play for the latter) in advance of the expected exclusion, we should see some buy pressure on this stock by mid-week.
