WIND discussion. Glass half-empty of half-full? 23% growth an aberation or not? With the new CEO and new focus coming certainly they plan to turn tings around. Can they? I like their chances.
Also is 23% really 23%? What was that one-time charge? I couldn't find it.

"Total revenues for the three months ended April 30, 1999 were $32.6 million, compared to $26.4 million for the same period in fiscal 1999. The increase in revenues of 23% for the three month period ended April 30, 1999 is due to increases in both product revenues and service revenues."

" Wind River Systems, Inc. WIND 05/21/99 $20.313 $17.938 +$1.188 -11.69% I'm adding Wind River Systems (WIND) to Jubak's Picks with a target price of $30 a share for May 2000. As I wrote in "Who wins when life goes digital," the company will be a major beneficiary of the rapid growth in the market for specialized appliances that can communicate over the Internet. The stock took a beating after an earlier earnings warning, but I expect it to rebound strongly in the rest of calendar 1999. "

* JUBAK SEEMS TO FEEL THAT EARNINGS WILL RECOVER. EVEN IF HE'S ONLY
HALF RIGHT ABOUT $30 LOW TO MID $20'S IS IN THE CARDS. NOT BAD. IT'S UP TO THE COMPANY NOW TO LEVERAGE THEIR KNOW-HOW AND IMPROVE ON THAT.
