You might like one of my alternative theories - it's a riff on the Cosmic Wheel, called the Cosmic Ferris Wheel. Eternity is terribly boring, so either we are God and are taking different lives just for something different to do, or we are created by God and are taking different lives just to give him something different to do. Everything, whether it be star, sun, planet, human, or grain of sand, is conscious, moving from existence to existence. If you are a rock, it takes a long time. If you are a star, even longer. We will eventually know everything, but serially, and forget it again. |
