i believe the rule is that the software must actually be shipped by the end of the quarter. Also, in addition to the payments being essentially guaranteed there is usually a time limit in which all payments have to be received for a deal to be recognized. I thought it was 12 months but might be wrong.

re: the MSFT deal. I know this deal was done a year ago but it wouldn't surprise me at all for this deal to have been structured in such a way that there was a revenue stream based on milestones. For all we know they could have done a series of pilots. I doubt that MSFT would have committed up front to implement sebl for their worldwide sales organization for multi millions of $ with absolutely no contingencies, deliverables, etc.

So I wouldn't be surprised if there's revenue from MSFT this quarter.
