A true utilitarian, if one can actually exist, gets as much pleasure from someone's else's pleasure as from his or her own. Bentham, widely honored as the founder, said "Pushpin was a good as poetry." But I am talking about a different principle. Even if I could not have an orgasm, or a smile, I personally would get more pleasure in giving someone else one than I would get from having one myself. In yoga, it is considered a triumph to have orgasm by mere force of the will. It is considered selfish to have an orgasm by yourself.
