Here's one for the options experts. Im a frequent lurker but never post. Im looking for a hedge to put on monday to accomplish 3 goals.

1.) To protect against a sudden downturn if fomc meeting indicates a series of fed tightening moves.

2.) Unreasonable selling as a result of Y2K fears.

3.) I need to come up with some cash (say 30K) for an investment.

I have about 1,000 shares of CSCO
300 shares of BRCM
600 shares of ATHM
350 shares of UPCOY
in my cash account and don't wish to sell any shares. Should I sell call options? or how would you suggest I best achive my goals?

Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated as I am not an accomplished investor like many here.

Thx.
