The $50 per year pet was talking about is from the Bill Payment side( I think he rounded the $4 x 12 =$48 to $50). This will come from the individuals, portals, etc. I'm employed by a large utility who uses CKFR for Bill Presentment and we pay CKFR $.30 for each bill presented. Reason being, with all costs loaded in, it cost us around $1.10 to send out a bill. Presentment is just so new that it hasn't really caught on yet ($10K over 9 months). But, you can see eventually, if you can raise that to 7-10 bills per month, there is money to be made. And, the real richness comes from as you look at your presented bill, what else can be offered or pitched at you (you've got these sticky eyeballs looking at the bill). You would think CKFR would get a cut from the advertising revenue flowing by as you look at your bills.
