Now now Neocon, we shouldn't blame Buchanan for Bush senior's inept campaign. If he had adhered to principle there would not have been a primary challenge. Think back, in early 92 conservatives were dispirited and the future looked a bit glum. Then out of the wilderness comes someone who is willing to fight the good fight. True, Buchanan could have tempered some remarks, such as toppling King George etc., but I must admit I rather enjoyed hearing them. If you want to point fingers, what about Charlie Black, James Baker, and the other suits who ill advised the president. It is possible that the primary challenge was the spark that ignited the brushfire which led to the Republican victory in 94. Do you think there is a connection?
