An interesting scenario from Global-view Financial discussion forum (by: Cape Town ) 10:33 GMT June 24, 1999 Gold//Apparently Aron (Goldman Sachs) has beeen buying 270 August calls which expire the friday after the auction. A la 70s, perhaps Aron will hold the market down through next Friday, then jump the bid price at the auction and win 100% of the sale (this happened a couple of times in the 70s) - other buyers would be shut out and would have to pay up immediately, forcing the market higher and shorts to begin covering. And from the Forex forum at same site: spotforex NY 16:27 GMT June 25, 1999 Charles, I still like A$, I am hearing that next week BoE gold sale is OVERSUBSCRIBED 6x...
