>>A spokesman for Intel, Santa Clara, Calif., said the company has not backed off from its revised launch plans. “I can reiterate to you that we will introduce the Intel 820 [Camino] chipset, and that it will enable the RDRAM in Q3,” the spokesman said. “We're on schedule to do so.” <<

jd,
that is a pretty strong quote from a darn good source, the horse's mouth. since intel's hq is in santa clara, we can safely consider a quoted spokesman from there to be in the know.
i can tell you that i have confirmed the same thing from another darn good source. so now you have two.

i like that article a lot. there is one glaring omission that i see. samsung was kind of glossed over. samsung announced previously they started producing 500,000 rambus drdrams in feb and ramped to 5 million per month this month. one other omission...no mention of ibm and there drdram production.

camino and rambus are going to happen whether nec is ready or not.

if it is true that dell will take 2/3 of all drdram production for this year, the demand has to be huge. the others cannot afford to let dell completely own the high end alone.
