My thoughts on Y2K:
The one thing I wonder about is if people suddenly decide on December 31st that they need to 'have some cash on hand just in case', and everyone decides to go to the bank at the same time. The banks may not have enough to satisfy everyone, and some people may get in a panic.
I work with computers (govt). We've been asked to come up with a contingency plan on how we are going to operate for a day/week/month in the event we don't have water, electricity, or telephones.
I mean, please, if we get to THAT point, I'm not going to work anyway, I'll be at home with my family trying to figure out how to make do there.
Of course, when it comes to government, we could have a Sudden Impact/
Armageddon situation, and some government official would be wanting to know what our plans are to keep operating after the meteor hits and all of mankind has been wiped out. |
