Excerpts from the article "The New Mobile Infrastructure" * Notebook computer use to grow from about 17million units in 1999 to about 28million in 2003-- approximately 65% growth. * Intel believes employee productivity soars with increased mobility, because employees have their data with them during the day. As a result, "the pattern of work behavior is more effective with a notebook. Enabling people to have their data with them during the day is extremely valuable." * Ownership costs for notebooks have dropped over 50% since 1995. * Mastercard is gradually replacing all its approximately 2000 notebooks with dells.
