No doubt about it, my time is very valuable. At the heart of my point is that very issue. I spend almost no time on the Net once I get home from work. I bet it's less than 1 hour a week. I therefore don't feel quadrupling my hookup cost is worth it. If, on the other hand, I made extensive use of the Net at home, then a cable hookup would become a mandatory requirement simply because of the amount of time devoted to its use.

So, what I'm getting at is this: are there enough home users who are willing, able and Net usage intensive enough to pay $40/month for access to make the concept of big pipes catch on quickly? I am thinking that if more people fit that category then big pipe access would be making bigger strides. It seems slow to catch on and I think the reason why is because there is only a limited amount of home uses who fit the big pipe user profile, i.e are intensive night Net users and can afford to double their hook up cost.
