You're right, Newt should get most of the credit for the victory in 94. BTW, please don't think I'm carrying water for Buchanan this election cycle. I worked for him in 92 and 96, but the fire in the belly is not there this time. I'll vote for him in the primary, (Irish Catholic tribalism I guess) but I really think he should fold his tent and go home. He has made his points. Your comment about his comment on the Zulus is right on. I always get a little squeamish when he gets strident about Mexicans and other immigrants, but in the past I have dismissed those comments. The more one hears the lousier it sounds. I can't wait for the general election and the chance to vote for George W. Four years of Gore and the accompanying entourage is too nightmarish to contemplate. The whole crowd needs to just go away so we can feel clean again and be proud of our president again.
