Eric - The nature of radio changed completely. It went from a story telling medium to a music medium. TV would have wiped it out, but people's creativity found it another purpose. Bricks and mortar stores will continue to exist, of course. But, they may change radically. The net will change even more radically. We can barely imagine what it may become, yet.
