My, my. How short memories are around here. In January 1998, the following post documents highlights from the infamous 1/22/98 Conference Call with KE. Among the items: 12 Million Zip drives sold 100 Million Zip disks = over 8 disks per drive. KE also warned in that CC tie ratios were falling, and they would advertise to try and prop up the tie ratio (remember the Super Bowl ad anyone?)

Last Summer, I warned people here that tie ratios had fallen to under 7.

Now it's fallen to 6. Zip tie ratios are continuing to fall. Please feel free to re-read the posts from the era of the above link. It makes for fascinating reading. Virtually NONE of the Iomaniac's predictions of that time have come true. = Zero credibility.
